Why APC Have Problem In Its Campaign Council – Sen Adeniyi Anthony

A former lawmaker representing Ekiti South Senatorial district, Adeniyi Anthony has revealed why the All Progressives Congress (APC) has a problem in its presidential campaign council (PCC).

Anthony in an interview with Sunday Sun disclosed that the ruling party is having issues in its presidential campaign council because some members of the party believe it is going to be the basis for future appointments into political offices in 2023.

The former lawmaker revealed this ahead of the inauguration of the APC campaign slated to kick off in Kano on Tuesday.

Some governors elected on the platform of the APC and the National Working Committee of the party led by Abdullahi Adamu in the past few weeks have expressed their grievances over the composition of the PCC.

The issue saw the ruling party postpone the inauguration of its presidential campaign council to allow more members of the party to come on board.

Anthony when asked if the aggrieved governors were not carried along by the party and the presidential candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu, he said, “they were all carried along. They were the ones that nominated those appointed as members of the campaign council, though not all of them.”

He further stated that party members are so desperate to be a member of the council because of their desire for political appointments if APC wins in 2023.

The former lawmaker revealed that his name was not on the list until the recent review.

Speaking on the delay in the inauguration of the APC presidential campaign council, Anthony said the ruling party will not copy the People Democratic Party and other parties.

Anthony further stated, “Although other activities are ongoing, we are officially launching our campaign activities in Kano on Tuesday.”
