‘Redesigning Does Not Make Sense’ – Pastor Adeboye Mocks CBN’s Plan To Change Naira Notes
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has slammed the decision of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to redesign the naira.
Naija News reports that the governor of the CBN, Godwin Emefiele, had on October 26 announced the plan to redesign the naira notes to control the money supply and aid security agencies in tackling illicit financial flow.
Speaking on Friday during RCCG’s November holy ghost service at the church headquarters along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Adeboye lamented that the naira has lost its value.
According to the internationally renowned cleric, redesigning the naira note “does not make sense” amid the free fall of the naira against foreign currencies.
He slammed the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government for initiating policies without considering the current value of the naira.
Adeboye said: “You know what is going on in our country. It doesn’t even make sense anymore. Our naira now is not even worth the paper it is printed on.
“While people are hungry, trying to find enough money to buy bread to eat, our bosses are thinking of making the naira more beautiful, even if it can’t buy bread, at least, it will look beautiful.
“We have problems in the land now. Things seem to be getting funnier and funnier. If you don’t learn to laugh in Nigeria now, you will develop hypertension.”

2023: Ado-Doguwa Explains Why APC Might Lose Presidential Election In Kano
The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, has come out to give reasons why the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) might lose the presidential election next year in Kano State.
According to him, the crisis rocking the Kano chapter of the party has frustrated many loyalists out of the APC and that such exit spells doom for the party as the 2023 general election inches close.
Naija News reports that Ado-Doguwa, at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, explained that the state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, had left the APC structure of the state in the hands of those responsible for the ongoing crisis in the party.
He noted that even though Ganduje had done a good job with the state’s governance, those he left the party for to manage have pushed loyalists out of the party.
The majority leader made reservations about the party’s deputy governorship candidate, Murtala Garo, who is an in-law to the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.
The lawmaker said even though he believes the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, would be able to consolidate the gains of President Muhammadu Buhari, it is important to note that there is a problem in the Kano APC.
CAN Holds National Prayer, Seeks Peaceful Election In 2023
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Friday beseeched God to intercede in the numerous insecurity challenges ravaging the country.
Naija News reports that CAN at its national prayer yesterday also sought the face of God for a peaceful election in 2023, as the country prepares gradually to go to the polls next year.
According to the CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh the prayer session was important because the group wants God to turn around the fortunes of the country, as well as witness peace and stability, as well as progress in all facets of life.
He also pointed out that it was important to pray against those creating fear in the minds of the people.
Okoh noted that “As Christians, we are people of prayer and now that our country is preparing for the next general election, one of the major things we should do to support our nation to have a peaceful and non-violent election is to come together and pray.
“And we are people of faith, we believe that any time we call upon Him with sincerity, he answers us.
“So CAN decide that it will be a good thing for us to gather particularly at this time of electioneering campaigns so that the Lord will grant us a very peaceful electioneering campaign and very peaceful seasons of the election.
“That is the reason why we gathered Christians on the platform of CAN to do this prayer."
