1. Adeleke, Adewusi Take Oath As Governor, Deputy Governor Of Osun State
On Sunday, Senator Ademola Adeleke and Kola Adewusi took the oath of office and allegiance as Governor and Deputy Governor of Osun State, respectively, Naija News reports.
Recall that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was officially declared the winner of the Osun State governorship election in mid-July by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Today, November 27, 2022, Adeleke and Adewusi were administered the oath office by the Osun State Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo.
The event witnessed the presence of PDP chieftains and dignitaries across the states. Naija News learnt that Adeleke entered the venue in a long convoy of vehicles at about 11:20 am and took his oath at about 11:50 am.

2. He Is Embarrassing You – APC Told To Replace Tinubu As 2023 Presidential Candidate
A call has gone out for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to replace its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu with another person before the February 2023 elections.
The call was made on Sunday by the Special Assistant to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar on Public Communications, Phrank Shaibu.
He observed that the recurring public gaffes by Tinubu show the former Lagos Governor is clearly not fit to be running for the presidency in 2023 as he has already become affected by old age.
Atiku’s aide added that Nigerians do not need a continuation of the APC in power because nothing good has come out from the party since it took over leadership in 2015.
Shaibu said Tinubu lacks credibility and does not look like somebody who is going to emerge as the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) as his continuous public blunders rather show him as a comedian.
Shaibu continued by saying the public gaffes by Tinubu are becoming too frequent and may just be pointers to his inability to lead Nigeria effectively.
Instead of plotting how to retain power in 2023, Shaibu said the ruling party should rather apologize to Nigerians.
3. Abuja-Kaduna Train Services Resumption Postponed
The resumption of services at the Abuja-Kaduna train service has been postponed till further notice.
The Federal Government announced the resumption extension today, Sunday through the Ministry of Transportation.
Though he did not tell when the services will resume, the Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo, disclosed that it wouldn’t be long before the train service resumes work.
Naija News recalls that the government had announced earlier that the Abuja-Kaduna train services would resume before the end of November 2022.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation suspended its services on the route in March 2022 when terrorists attacked and abducted scores of passengers heading to Kaduna. Scores of people were killed in the attack.
Subsequently, those who were abducted regained their freedom, in batches. The government had since declared through the Managing Director of Nigeria Railway Corporation, Fidet Okhiria, that it would not resume services on the route until the situation report from the incident is satisfactory.
However, with three days left for the month to end, Sambo on Sunday told newsmen in Kaduna that the resumption of services at the station is extended.
4. Oyo Police Speak On Assassination Attempt On Peter Obi
The Oyo State Police Command has debunked claims of an assassination attempt on the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, during his rally at the Lekan Salami, Adamasingba Stadium last week.
Naija News reported that there was a commotion on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the LP campaign in Oyo state, after an unidentified man was caught with a dagger at the event.
The man was dressed in a black suit and reportedly stood by the walkway where the LP flagbearer, was meant to pass on his arrival at the venue of the rally.
There are unverified claims on social media that the man may have been at the rally to attack Obi, with many netizens calling on the Labour Party presidential candidate to beef up his security.
The Oyo police command spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, in a statement issued on Sunday, November 27, 2022, confirmed that a man identified as Lateef Wasiu was arrested by Police officers at the campaign venue.
The Police boss noted that Lateef was arrested for being in possession of a double-faced jack-knife placed on the inside of his suit in violation of the 2022 Electoral Act and other guiding regulations.
Contrary to the reports making the rounds online, Osifeso said there was no assassination attempt on the life of Obi and warned party supporters against fake news that could threaten the peace of the state.
5. Adeleke Announces First Appointments As Osun Governor
The newly sworn-in governor of Osun State, Ademola Jackson Adeleke has approved the appointment of new aides into his administration.
Naija News reports that the appointments came a few hours after the new Osun State governor took the oath of office with his deputy, Kola Adewusi, at the Osogbo City Stadium on Sunday.
After his inauguration, Adeleke approved the appointment of Kazeem Akinleye as his Chief of Staff.
The governor also announced the appointment of Teslim Igbalaye as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

Suspected arsonists have set ablaze the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Iboko, Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
In a statement on Sunday signed by INEC Spokesman, Festus Okoye, the Commission said the office was set ablaze around 10am by unidentified persons.
Okoye said the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Ebonyi state, Onyeka Ugochi, reported the incident to the headquarters of the commission.
The INEC Commissioner for Voter Education disclosed that the main building and all the movable and immovable items inside it were destroyed by the fire.
He said 340 ballot boxes, 130 voting cubicles, 14 electric power generators, large water storage tanks, assorted office furniture, and yet-to-be-determined quantities of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) were destroyed in the fire incident.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has acknowledged that some Fulani children are involved in banditry and kidnapping across the country.
The renowned monarch, who doubles as the President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), expressed worry over the situation, saying that Fulanis are known to be peaceful people but that some cattle breeders amongst them have chosen to engage in criminality.
Naija News understands that Abubakar seeks resolve to the situation while speaking during the inauguration of the new leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Abuja on Sunday.
While expressing wonder as to why some of the Fulani children suddenly turned into banditry and kidnapping, Abubakar charged the new MACBAN executives to treat the situation as urgent, urging them to help the Federal Government tackle insecurity in the country.
While stating that the threat to divide the country is because of certain things Nigerians are not doing right, the NSCIA boss urged the association to look critically into the matter.
8. Amaechi: Wike No Longer Taken Serious By Nigerians – APC Chieftain
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said on Sunday that Nigerians no longer take any statement from Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike seriously.
Naija News understands that the submission was made to counter the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor’s comment earlier about the administration of his predecessor and former principal, Rotimi Amaechi.
Wike had on Saturday, while commissioning a project in the Obio-Akpor local government area, accused Amaechi of emptying the state treasury before vacating office in 2015.
Recall that Wike was a former Chief of Staff to Amaechi.
Governor Wike, in another statement, said the former Minister of Transportation and the APC governorship candidate in Rivers, Tonye Cole, would never have a reason to plunder the state resources again.
Wike stated that Amaechi’s comment on the ongoing project was filled with envy. He wondered why Amaechi, who was unable to account for the 308 million proceeds from the sales of the State power plants by his administration, would have an opinion about the inauguration of his projects, Naija News reports.
He had said, “Why should we not celebrate, when you sold our gas turbine at the cost of $308 Million? Convert it today at even N500, how much will it be? What can you show for the money, certainly nothing.”
However, the spokesman of APC in the state, Darlington Nwauju, said on Sunday that Amaechi would not engage the incumbent Governor of Rivers State in a media war.
Nwauju said it became necessary to set the records straight by confirming that Amaechi has to the credit of his administration, the “Agip, Eliozu Obiri Ikwere, Eleme, and Woji flyover projects”.

Reports had emerged earlier that the entire leadership of the party in Sokoto State defected to APC on Friday.
The report also claimed that the entire PRP in the state has formed an alliance with the nation’s ruling party ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Naija News understands that the report emerged after the PRP governorship candidate in the state, Alhaji Sa’idu Gumburawa, alongside other party members officially announced their exit from the party to APC.
Gumburawa, who was received by Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North), said all the candidates of the PRP and leaders at the state and local government levels had consented to the decision of the party to join APC.
In a response, the PRP National Publicity Secretary in the state, Malam Ibrahim Tudun-Doki, said on Sunday that the report about collapsing into APC was unfortunate and misleading.

The immediate past Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, on Sunday expressed optimism that the tribunal would rule in his favour, hoping that he would regain his mandate from the Ademola Adeleke-led administration.
Naija News had earlier reported that Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would be inaugurated today as the state Governor at the Osogbo City Stadium.
Oyetola who believes that the governorship election which saw Adeleke defeat him was rigged, in his handover note, said he is only stepping aside to allow the law to take its course.
