PDP Chieftain Reveals Why Wike, Makinde Are Silent On Campaign Council

A source in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has claimed that the silence of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde as members of the council means consent.

Naija News reports that the Oyo State Governor was last week Thursday appointed as the Vice Chairman South of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC). While Wike and some other governors were appointed as members of the PCC. Speaking to Vanguard on Monday, a PDP source disclosed that the duo may have accepted their appointment. The source said: “Since they have not spoken, it means they have accepted. If they had any reservation, they would have rejected it from the day their names were mentioned." Recall that the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal was appointed as the Director General for the National Campaign Management Committee (NCMC) by the PDP and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. The PDP appointed a former governor of Cross Rivers State, Liyel Imoke as Deputy Director of General Operations while Professor Adewale Oladipu was appointed as Deputy Director of Administration. Raymond Dokpesi was appointed by the party as the Deputy Director of Technical and Systems, while Ekwesilieze Nwodo was appointed as Deputy Director of Research and Strategy of the NCMC. The National Organising Secretary of the party, Umaru Bature announced the development in a statement released newsmen.
