The Spokesman for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, has hailed the appointment of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State as the National Youth Coordinator of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.
Naija News had reported that Tinubu, in a letter he personally signed on Sunday, said Bello was appointed because of his impressive political achievements and the exemplary leadership he has demonstrated as governor and as a party member. The APC presidential candidate said he is sure Governor Bello would do his best in the position, to ensure APC’s victory in the 2023 presidential election. Speaking with The Punch on Sunday, Keyamo congratulated the Kogi governor on his appointment to the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council. The Minister of State for Labour and Employment said Bello's appointment was politically calculative because the governor has a large following amongst the youth in the party. Keyamo stated the appointment has further united the ruling party ahead of the 2023 presidential election. He said: “Bello commands a large following amongst the youth in the party. Most importantly, it further unites our house as he was one of the formidable aspirants that ran against Asiwaju during our primary. This further shows that Asiwaju is an excellent head hunter.”Appointment Well Deserved
Also speaking, the spokesperson for Yahaya Bello Presidential Campaign Organisation, Yemi Kolapo, hailed her principal’s appointment, describing it as an honour well deserved. Kolapo said the appointment is also a vote of confidence in Bello’s proven capacity as the Kogi State Governor for seven years. She said, “This appointment is also a vote of confidence in Governor Yahaya Bello’s proven capacity in his present assignment as Kogi State Governor. “It goes to strengthen the belief in informed quarters that Tinubu has a unique eye for star performers regardless of religion, tribe or gender. He is known for putting round pegs in round holes. This is what he has demonstrated with the appointment of Bello as National Youth Coordinator of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council. “Nigerians should be rest assured that Tinubu will hit the ground running immediately he is sworn in as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with tested professionals well positioned to revitalise key sectors.”This article was originally published on Naija News
