The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, will on Tuesday (today) meet with Party stakeholders in the South-East.
According to reports, the meeting is part of the presidential candidate’s consultations with party stakeholders at the Zonal level. South-East stakeholders are expected to present their list of expectations as well as positions on issues of mutual benefit as the party prepares for the 2023 general elections. The meeting between Atiku, Okowa and the PDP stakeholders was confirmed to Vanguard by a Spokesperson for the party’s presidential campaign, Charles Aniagwu. When contacted, he said, “Yes, a meeting is scheduled to hold in Enugu tomorrow (Tuesday).” Recall that Atiku held a similar meeting with stakeholders in the South West, in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital last week. Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State had during the meeting called for the removal or resignation of the PDP’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu. The South East leaders in the zone have constantly argued that the zone deserves more from the main opposition political party for substantially keeping faith with the PDP brand since inception in 1998.This article was originally published on Naija News
